Convert any image to JPG, PNG or WebP

Different apps, websites and printers accept different image formats. This image converter turns almost any picture into the format you need: JPG for small, widely supported photos, PNG for lossless graphics with transparency, or WebP for compact files on the modern web. It reads PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF, AVIF, BMP, TIFF and even HEIC photos from an iPhone.

Everything happens locally. Your browser decodes the image, draws it on a canvas and encodes it again in the chosen format. Nothing is uploaded, nothing is stored on a server, and the tool keeps working offline once the page has loaded, so it is safe for private or confidential pictures.

Choosing the right output format

Pick JPG for photographs and anything you want to email or upload to a form; the quality slider trades file size against detail, and 80–90% is a good default. Pick PNG for screenshots, logos and images with transparent backgrounds, because it never loses detail. Pick WebP when you publish on the web and want files that are often 25–35% smaller than JPG at similar quality.

Transparency, quality and batches

JPG has no alpha channel, so transparent pixels are filled with the background color you choose (white by default). PNG ignores the quality setting because it is lossless. You can drop many files at once; each is converted with the same settings. A single file downloads directly, while several are bundled into one ZIP, each keeping its original name with the new extension. Animated GIFs are converted using their first frame. Converting between lossy formats repeatedly reduces quality, so always start from your best original when you can.

A file that cannot be decoded is skipped and named under the converter, so one damaged picture never stops the rest of the batch. Some browsers, notably Safari, cannot encode WebP; in that case the tool saves PNG instead and tells you. For one-off jobs there are focused converters such as PNG to JPG, HEIC to JPG and TIFF to JPG. If you also need to resize large batches, the batch converter adds a maximum size option, and the image compressor shrinks files without changing their format.

Frequently asked questions

Which formats can I convert?
You can open PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF, AVIF, BMP, TIFF and HEIC/HEIF photos, and save them as JPG, PNG or WebP.
Are my images uploaded?
No. Every conversion runs in your browser with the HTML canvas, so your files never leave your device.
What happens to transparency?
PNG and WebP keep transparency. JPG cannot store it, so transparent areas are filled with the background color you pick.
Can I convert many images at once?
Yes. Select several files and they are all converted with the same settings and downloaded together as one ZIP.
